Mom on a Mission: September Community Service Project

National Diaper Awareness Week is Sept. 28th through Oct. 4. "Make A Change and Wipe Out Diaper Need" by donating Newborn and Size 1 diapers.

The Baby's Bounty mission is to ensure that each baby born into an impoverished family has the most essential clothing and gear to thrive.

An infant’s health, safety and wellbeing are our top priority. A Baby Bundle, distributed to a newborn up to six months of age, includes a Graco Pack n’ Play w/bassinet, a convertible car seat, a front carrier, a bathtub filled with hygiene items, towels and washcloths plus a collection of sleepers, sleep sacks, outfits, hats, bibs, booties, bottles, receiving blankets, diapers, wipes, a toy and a hand knit blanket.

In 2014 we distributed Baby Bundles to 733 infants, including 19 sets of twins. Since our launch in July 2008 we have assisted nearly 4,000 children and expect to provide Baby Bundles to 720 to 750 children in 2015.

When mothers receive these items (73% are in single parent households earning 50% less than median area income with no support system) it relieves some of the stress and despair they are experiencing and empowers them to take better care of their new babies. 35% of recipients return our client surveys stating that, without the Baby Bundles, they would have slept with their baby, gone without a car seat, had no more than three pieces of clothing for their child or struggled to provide diapers. In all cases the child and the mother’s self-esteem would suffer.

FIT4MOM Las Vegas will be supporting Baby's Bounty cause the last week in September by collecting Size 1 diapers at all of their class locations and donating them to Baby's Bounty for underprivileged families in the Las Vegas community.
