Lisa Jean Kaplan

Run Club Coach (Summerlin)

My name is Lisa, and I am a Mom (to an infant boy Wesley), Wife (to Dave), Runner, and Adventurer (amidst other pursuits such as marketing new homes, flying single-engine planes, and watching sporting events). Running is my everything – my inspiration, my relaxation, my time away, my time together, my time to explore, and my time to socialize. I grew up in a family of runners (in Northern New Jersey), and I can’t imagine anything else. Both of my parents ran marathons (and lots of other road races), and many of our family vacations revolved around running. When I wasn’t watching them run, making posters, or handing out water cups, I was running or biking alongside them, and exploring the places that we traveled together. I am the active, fit, healthy woman that I am today in part because of this upbringing, and it is my passion to instill that in my own family and hopefully in others. I ran my first 1-mile fun run with my twin sister when we were 3 years old and have gone on to run many more races – track, cross-country, obstacle runs, 5ks, 10ks, half-marathons, and over 20 marathons around the country (the most challenging was Pike’s Peak, which I have run twice). I enjoy cross-training with hot yoga, swimming, biking, hiking and other Fit4Mom classes. To me one of the best things about running is the ability to lace up your running shoes anywhere and head out the door. Sometimes with a stroller around the block, sometimes on my own during a business trip – it is something that you can do almost anytime, anywhere, and with anyone. Running is the base of most other sports, and learning how to run (and love running) has benefited me in many ways. I can’t wait to join you on the trails!
